I was extremely nervous about my experience however as soon as I arrived at the clinic all the of the people there made me feel at ease and welcomed.
For such an awful experience to go through and due to the pandemic I was there alone (although my boyfriend was outside) it was nice to see smiling faces well eyes due to the masks! I was then met by [name removed] who completed an ultrasound she was extremely personable and casually discussed what would happen and offered me contraception but there was no pressure for me to make a decision then and there, she was extremely gentle and just really lovely.
Then I was greeted by [name removed], who was THE loveliest nurse I think I’ve ever met she was so so nice to me, i mean i didn't expect her to be mean but she was extremely caring and had the most reassuring way of talking. We spoke really openly about what I should expect and the support that there is for me. We had a good 20-30 minutes of going through everything and I felt she answered and gave me all of the information that I needed.
Finally, what I feel was the most important thing for me is that there were no questions asked on why/how I got pregnant. It was dealt with in a way that they purely dealt with my decision of wanting the abortion. This was really important to me, as I understand that they need to offer contraception but I don't feel that its necessary for someone to ask those questions.
Anyway, all I can say is I would 100% recommend Marie Stopes. From the first call I had everyone has been fantastic to me, i’ve had 1 counselling session and I will likely book my remaining 5 in the coming months.
